Description:

A series (in reverse) showing the opening of an orchid tree's flowers, which are not orchids but superficially resemble them. "This is a very popular ornamental flowering tree in subtropical and tropical climates. It is from the family Fabaceae, native to southeastern Asia, from southern China west to Pakistan and India."

Habitat:

Growing as an ornamental in a semi-urban yard/garden in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.
