Pomegranate fruits, granadas

Punica granatum

Description:

Fruits of pomegranate. Punica granatum is grown as a fruit crop plant, and as ornamental trees and shrubs in parks and gardens. Mature specimens can develop sculptural twisted bark multi-trunks and a distinctive overall form. Pomegranates are drought-tolerant, and can be grown in dry areas with either a Mediterranean winter rainfall climate or in summer rainfall climates.

They will be ripe during the autumn. By them I will put a picture of a ripe open fruit. You will love it

I just checked the Latin name and in German it is Granatapfel, which I certainly know as a delicious fruit and juice, but didn't make the connection.

Actually, the fruit of the picture is still very small. It should grow bigger and rounder up to an orange size, more or less

Cool! I just have bought some Läkerol candies from Sweden with Pomegranate flavour, but couldn't imagine the fruit behind.
