Ranunculus septentrionalis
Yellow flowers about 1 inch wide with 5 round, bright yellow petals.
Spotted on Tamarac NWR at the Chippewa Picnic area. It grows in deciduous woods, along streams, wet soil and meadows.
Its flowers produce much pollen but little nectar, so it attracts pollen eating beetles, flies and bees.
