Habitat:

It is found in Argentina, Chile, the Falkland Islands and Paraguay as well as Andean regions of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It is a vagrant to Brazil. Its natural habitat is freshwater lakes. (Wikipedia)

Notes:

These were in the high altitude lake laguna micacocha in the Antisana Ecological Reserve, Ecuador .
