Description:

A medium-sized, slender heron of the southeastern United States, the Tricolored Heron was formerly known as the Louisiana Heron. Medium-sized heron with long, slender neck and bill. Dark back and neck with white belly.

Habitat:

This one was observed in one of the inland ponds at the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge near Hardeeville (Jasper County), SC.
