Description:

A common freshwater turtle that has a dark olive-brown shell. The head and feet are dark brown with bright yellow stripes. The bottom shell is yellow and unmarked.

Habitat:

Lakes, steams, springs, slow-moving rivers and well-vegetated waterways.

Notes:

Cooters are mainly herbivorous and feed on aquatic plants.
