Paxillus sp.

Paxillus sp.

Description:

Beautiful old example of a Paxillus, commonly know as Roll-rim. Though my first guess would be P. involutus, I find the stem too thick and too short compared to the cap. Apart from that, there are a couple of Paxillus species that look alike a lot, which you can only tell apart on microscopic level.

Habitat:

Found under Populus alba, in a grassfield.
