Short-tailed Ichneumon Wasp Ophion Sp.

Ophion Sp.

Description:

Looks like a reddish wasp, but I could only see one pair wings. The eyes are striking and very much like many of the local bees

Habitat:

near a porch light in a conifer/hardwood forest.

Notes:

Not sure if it showed up overnight or not. It disappeared mid day

It doesn't look like a dobson - I've seen them. I will accept the ichneumon, despite not being able to find another set of wings
