Western Grebe

Aechmophorus occidentalis

Description:

Long necked grebe with white throat and black on the back of the neck and grey back and red eyes

Habitat:

in a small creek at the side of a highway

Notes:

The difference between photos one and two are the zoom capability on my little point and shoot. The first is the standard and the second is the "optical digital" zoom. The first compares to about an 840mm
