Tubaria furfuracea
Golden caps about 25mm wide with regular white patches ( remnants of partial veil) about 1mm from margin of cap. Striations seen towards the margins. Gills were creamy brown in colour and the stipe slightly scabrous. Spore print (pic #4) was a mustard yellow.
underneath eucalyptus trees
The white patches on the cap looked like stitches ! This was previously incorrectly identified as the golden wood fungus. My thanks go to TheMiesMeister for providing the correct ID http://healing-mushrooms.net/archives/tu...

Thanks so much for having a look at this and providing the correct ID TheMiesMeister - I was wondering about the yellow gills ( or lack of...). I accept your suggestions and will change the ID. thanks again..
Hi! I don't think this is the Golden Wood Fungus, because the gills are not yellow. This is what I believe you've found: Tubaria furfuracea. (Or maybe T. conspersa). The cap is hygrophaneous, meaning the color changes depending on the humidity. http://www.glaucus.org.uk/Tubaria011.jpg...,
