Green Starburst Lichen

Parmeliopsis ambigua

Description:

The little lichen on the top left is a Green Starburst Lichen. Folios pale yellowish-green radiating lobes with a brown to almost black lower surface. The blob on the right or middle is sap from the tree. Interesting.

Habitat:

Grows on conifer stumps, logs, and bark in full sun.

Notes:

Beach road.
