Pink Weevil

Description:

A small, broad-nosed weevil, covered completely in round micro scales. There were many of these weevils out feeding at night on a small bush with sticky leaves. They were between 5 and 7 mm in length. They were feeding on the edges of the leaves. Chewed areas are visible in the 3rd picture. Family Curculionidae, Entiminae, Tribe Geonemini.

Habitat:

Bush along the roadside, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
