Black Saddlebags Dragonfly

Description:

The Black Saddlebags is a relatively large dragonfly at about 5 centimeters in length. The body is thin and black, and the head is much wider than the rest of the body. This one has tattered wings.

Habitat:

A riparian wildlife area along the edge of Lake Lewisville. This was spotted on a day hike along the edge of the lake traveling south and west.
