Gray Wall Jumper

Menemerus bivittatus

Description:

A female common wall jumping spider feeding on a moth as large as it. Menemerus bivittatus is the only Menemerus species recorded in Borneo but this could be a sub-species or different species because her legs looks different from other Menemerus bivittatus. They are the most common jumping spider on building walls because their grey color camouflages against white walls, especially dirty white walls.

Habitat:

Painted wooden walls of Panataran Kinabalu Restaurant, opposite Kinabalu National Park in Kundasang, Sabah. Found it on the same spot as where I found http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/129...

Notes:

This species is the ultimate jumping spider species. It can live in natural & artificial environment. This is common in the lowlands back in Tawau but I did not know that this could survive better here in the cool highlands at 1560m above sea level. >>>Map accuracy : 100m diameter.
