Lecanora straminea
Pale yellow lichen with brown apothecia. The rims of the apothecia match the color of the thallus. Growing alongside a few other lichen species
On smooth rock on the shore of Bird Rock, a very small island in Uyak Bay right above Spiridon Bay that I'd guess is only a little over 150 square meters. Home to beach ryegrass, stinging nettle, and some other plants and small organisms. Many Arctic terns and some surfbirds, oystercatchers, and Black Turnstones were here. On some other nearby rocks there were also Horned Puffins, a crow, and many gulls as well as some Harbor Seals.
