Agkistrodon piscivorus
I was disappointed That this was the only Water moccasin pic that I got while I was at Seven Devils Swamp, especially since its noted for having plenty of them. I did see plenty of them in the 70's and 80's when I fished here a lot. This one was only about 60-65 cm with a very dark brown to black markings.
Spotted hiding in limb and leaf debris at the edge of Cutoff Creek at Seven Devils Swamp. This is the world's only semiaquatic viper, usually found in or near water, particularly in slow-moving and shallow lakes, streams, and marshes.
Found in the southeast United States.
