Description:

About 15-18 millimeters in body length, colored as shown.

Habitat:

This wasp was drinking nectar from flowers in the zoo's hummingbird garden. Surrounding native habitat is mixed coniferous forest with aspen, Gambel's oak, and other hardwoods.
