Luna moth

Description:

Luna moths are large beautiful silk moths with bright green wings with tails at the base. The typical wingspan of a Luna moth is 3 to 4 inches. Their body is white and fuzzy and they have eyespots on their wings. They are very majestic and beautiful moths.

Habitat:

Luna moths are only found in North America. This moth was found on a suburban/rural street surrounded by some woods in Media, Pennsylvania.

Notes:

This particular moth was believed to be male (due to wide, luxuriant antennae) and newly hatched.
