Rana catesbeiana
I used my iPhone to get the low angle on this shot. I am used to seeing the eardrum being larger on bullfrogs -- perhaps this one is a youngster -- wasn't very big for bullfrog.
Beside a dock in a small lake.
Shot with my iPhone.

this is so so beautiful. I am sharing this with my NATURE LOVERS group over at FB. I hope you will join us. Many new and old friends there. The theme is Art in Motion. Perfect!
It's probably a female. They have noticeably smaller eardrums (technically called tympanums) than males, even at a young age. Great photo by the way... I'm shocked you were able to get this close with an iphone without her hopping away :)
nice shot!
I'll bet you can hold a polarizing filter in front of the iphone lens, and you would not need a large one.
Lovely color in this picture!
Can you get a polarizing filter for an iPhone? Hahaha! My favorite thing about the iPhone's camera is the ability to go where I will not put my Pentax (touching the surface of a boggy lake).
I believe this is a Bullfrog. Also, note how the low photographic angle adds to the visual impact of the image. Adding a polarizing screen might have (depending upon the sun angle) reduced or eliminated the specular highlights on and behind the ear.
