Banded Sphinx Moth Larva

Eumorpha fasciata

Description:

Multi-coloured larva having red, white, yellow, black and green colours on it. At least 3 inches long. There were 2 on this plant.

Habitat:

These were found feeding on primrose-willow near the pond. (Photo 6 shows the blossom). Pupation takes place in subterranean burrows.

Notes:

This might be the 5th instar, not sure.
