Heleomyzid fly

Diplogeomyza diaphora

Description:

A small brown fly about 12mm long with prominent red eyes. There were bristles on the head and thorax. There were pale stripes on the thorax. Wings were overlapped and had small black markings. There were a pair of bristles one on either side of short antennae.

Habitat:

Resting on an Agapanthus plant. Seen in most parts of Australia right from the temperate to the tropical areas
