Banded Honeyeater

Certhionyx pectoralis

Description:

A stately-looking, small, black and white honeyeater with a black back, tail and head. Underparts white with a black band across the chest. Typical long-curved bill and longish black legs.

Habitat:

Flitting around in the trees at the Mankajarra wetlands. Endemic to Australia.

Notes:

As far as I'm aware, this is the first little Banded Honeyeater spotting on PN! I've seen this species at the wetlands before and yesterday I saw two flying around together :) First reference for identification: The Michael Morcombe eGuide to Australian Birds, Mobile App. Reference: http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:b...
