Neurothemis ramburii papuensis
A female or immature male. The adult male is brilliant red. Occurs from mainland Asia to New Guniea where it is widespread and often abundant at standing, unshaded waters. Neurothemis ramburii papuensis is the subspecies recorded for Papua.
Spotted on mother-in-law's tongue (Sansevieria trifasciata) in a large semi-urban yard & garden near a disturbed patch of remnant forest. It is not a particularly wet area.
I am not 100% certain of the Neurothemis species.
