Erebid Moth

Rivula sp.

Description:

Erebidae; Rivulinae; Rivula sp. It is just about half way through the rice growing season in this area of the Philippines and the insects are beginning to appear, on the leaves, in significant numbers. I was looking for spiders, when I spotted these moths. As it turned out, I was a little too early for the spiders, but these little moths were already out in strong numbers. They could be seen in every direction, all over the rice.

Habitat:

Spotted in a rice field.
