Gall on native mistletoe

Description:

A rust coloured swelling with emerging leaves seen on the stem of a native mistletoe. A similar swelling was spotted on another branch but this was dry and had a well defined hole.

Habitat:

Spotted on a drooping mistletoe (native) in a nature conservation reserve - Frankston

Notes:

Not able to find any information on what I assume is a gall. Looks like a rust gall but not as knobbly. Any help with an ID will be most appreciated. Thanks.
