A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Hetaerina americana
This is a broad winged damselfly. Males striking, unmistakable. Females occur in two forms, with either green or copper-colored marks on thorax. The typical habitat is a sunny riverbank. You will find the American Rubyspots perched on plants along the bank, or on rocks in the river itself.
