Alcidodes elegans
Species identification based on personal communication with an expert about a previous spotting. (I used the genus Alcidodes in lieu of Alcides as per Marshall).
Spotted on vegetation along a survey transect in secondary coastal lowland mixed freshwater swamp forest/sago swamp forest.
Unfortunately the weevil got trapped in a spider web (3rd photo) trying to escape the photo session.
