thanks Arlanda... took your advise and started taking cup underside shots! Most of the ones I found though, had gils...

Still, I am almost sure it is some kind of boletus, :)

It looks like a boletus but it is difficult to be sure without having a look at the cup underside. If it was a boletus it would have a tubular like structure instead of gills. To identify mushrooms you must always take a pic of the cup underside, and even, open it with a knife and check the colour change. Many boletus change colour when the inner parts are exposed to air and it is a key to identify them.
