Common tree frog

Polypedates leucomystax

Description:

A brown tree frog, about 10cm, white above, black stripe next to the eyes, dark spots at the back.

Habitat:

Spotted at Zoo Ragunan area, (wild specimen), Jakarta, a big green area in the city crossed by a big water canal. It is also found in Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and possibly Bhutan. It has been introduced to Japan.

Notes:

Tree frogs has rounded toe pads to help them climb and move around in the branches. Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Amphibia Order: Anura Family: Rhacophoridae Genus: Polypedates Species: P. leucomystax

Polypedates leucomystax is a species in the shrub frog family Rhacophoridae. It is known under numerous common names, including common tree frog, four-lined tree frog, golden tree frog or striped tree frog.
