Description:

A ladybird pupa on Acacia

Habitat:

On an acacia heavily infested with scale insects and black mildew.

Notes:

The acacia was infested with scale insects which were conter-infested with beetles. There were larvae, pupae and adults everywhere.

Martin, great series!

Lizzy, that is because you are looking at the pupa and larva in the first three images. If you look at the entire series of images, you can see the adult beetle shortly after emerging in the last two pictures.
