Pacific Gopher Snake

Pituophis catenifer catenifer

Description:

Often confused with the local rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus oreganus) due to similar coloring and markings. The gopher snake however lacks a triangular head and is actually non-venomous. This one was found out in the grassland and turned out to be ~6 feet long.

Great snake and its looks like it was educating lots of people! Please consider adding it to the Snakes of the US mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1202...
