Description:

Both found on the same bush. Same species, just different color morphs! The adults are a type of hummingbird moth that also mimic bumble bees through coloration and movement.

Awesome. Thanks, Aaron! I know we have hemaris thysbe in my area, but I hadn't ever seen any diffinis.

I found this one on page 267 of Wagner's "Caterpillars of Eastern North America." Luckily they show both morphs in the book, which helped me make the ID. Wagner states that the purple form is much less common than the green. Excellent spot!
