Hippocampus histrix
The spiny seahorse, also referred to as the thorny seahorse, is a seahorse in the family Syngnathidae of the order Syngnathiformes. The Male of the Seahorses are the one that carry their babies. During copulation, the female Seahorses transfers her eggs to the pouch of the Male Seahorses where the eggs are fertilized and incubated. Prior to mating, both Male & Female seahorses performs elaborate courting dance. They tend to stay monogamous during the breeding cycle with the Female going to 'visit' the Male every morning and renewing their courtship.
Their habitat range for sea grass area to sandy and rubble bottoms and sometimes, among corals. Their colors varies depending on where they settled down at - black, white, brown, yellow, green and combinations of the above colors.
On the contrary to their cute and likeable looks, seahorses are one of the most lethal animal with a success rate of 90% compared to 50% of Great White Sharks! http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.co...

Beautiful! I hadn't realized that Seahorses were predators. I thought they ate vegetation.
