Thank you Lois Stacy for the ID. I wasn't too sure about the old ID for the same reasons you mentioned.

It bothered me that the black extended past the nodus (the notch in the middle of the wing) and there was no white beyond the dark. It also doesn't look the right shape for Widow. I did some searching and found Black-winged Dragonlet which fits your picture and location.

Looks kinda like a Widow Skimmer... But that's the closest I can think of. This might start you off:
