Sosxetra grata
Fuzzy moth Sosxetra grata of the Erebidae family. It has the specialized proboscis for sticking and feeding on fruits.
Attracted by the light of the kitchen of my house.
I would like to take a lot of photos of moths to the National Moth Week. But it's winter in Brazil. There is no moth to register. By the way, I'm announcing the moths and the National Moth Week event on my insect page on Facebook. The people of my country are not interested in moth. But I will not get tired of doing a small part. I am proud to be 6 consecutive years as one of the few people registered on the National Moth Week map for my country, and to participate in this event through Project Noah. It is about the joy of committing to nature in some small way.

Beautiful series Kel,congrats on the well deserved SOTD and thanks for sharing
Congratulations, Kel! Your fantastic spotting has been selected as spotting of the day! Many thanks for your dedication to NMW and Project Noah during these years. The NMW team is definitely considering other options for those in the Southern Hemisphere who have so many cool moths and who have participated since the beginning and I will let you know how that discussion goes. I will bring the potential of adding an event in the Southern Hemisphere's summer to the table again. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them as well. :)
We hope everyone is having a blast celebrating National Moth Week! Make sure to check out any outside lights and photograph what you find! Our spotting of the day is a beautiful Walker's moth, Sosxetra grata, spotted by Project Noah user Sckel!

What a gorgeous series Kel! I love the ones with the hairs!
Kel, if it helps you can submit moths photos taken any time of the year! I believe National Moth Week were considering at some stage adding an event in January for the Southern Hemisphere. Maybe Jacob or Liti can tel us more.
