The tips of Coreopsis petals are toothed, also the leaves are never three veined like you have with this plant. There are other distinctions, but require closer inspection of the flower, or for them to have already set seed.

Hmm, Chester, I always get confused between Coreopsis and Helianthus. How do you tell them apart?

This is not a Coreopsis, think it is a Helianthus, though not sure which one.
