Snowberry Clearwing Moth

Hemaris diffinis

Description:

The thorax is golden or olive-golden in color, abdomen is black dorsally with 1-2 segments just prior to terminal end being yellow to various extent, while black ventrally. This bumblebee mimic moth was feeding on the butterfly bush.

Habitat:

Wildlife habitat with many native plants. Many Lonicera, honeysuckle, varieties for these moths to lay their eggs.
