Western red-tailed hawk

Description:

The one thing that is consistent throughout the subspecies and color morphs is the reddish-brown tails seen in pic 3. This one had a dark molted back and wings, typical of the western red-tailed. Pale underside with some dark barring.

Habitat:

Perched on a fence post near a wetland and meadow. Also, riparian woodlands are nearby.
