Serbian Spruce

Picea Omorika

Description:

Needled Evergreen. The height is between 40 to 60 ft. Conical crown. Branches are spread slightly downwards. Its color is light brown or pale. Trunk bark thin.

Habitat:

The preferred habbitat is Northwestern Ontario. Its growth requires a dependle supply of well aerated-water, although the species will withstand with a wide range.

Notes:

It is often confused with Picea abies. The word 'omorika' is common in Bosnian and Serbian folklore where it symbolizes slenederness.
