Description:

Medium sized mantid, green with red markings and a large black spot between the front legs

Habitat:

Grassy refuge area Introduced in 1899 via nursery stock and now sold as pest control, even in places where they cannot overwinter

Notes:

Today was mantis day for me. This one (except for climbing on my camera and totally confusing me when half of him disappeared) wanted nothing to do with me

Thank you! And while I didn't see the inside legs on this one, the next one I encountered had identical markings and the black spot clearly visible. I posted those as separate spottings

Even though the insides of the front legs are not visible, I don't think there are any other mantids with that coloration.
