Chocolate Brown Slime Mold

Stemonitis sp.

Description:

This is the weirdest fungi I have ever seen. Creepy too. It is brown and growing on a dead pine tree. It looks like feathers and you can blow it and it will move. The center is white and shiny. It is growing in a circle about 6 inches across.

Habitat:

Dead pine tree.
