Lined ruby tiger cocoon

Phragmatobia Lineata

Description:

The lined ruby tiger moth vary from orange, to brown, to red. They spent their larval stage eating low growing plants such as small ferns. When they undergo metamorphosis, they wrap themselves with silk and form a pupa inside the silk casing. It may take 1-3 weeks for them to emerge as moths.

Habitat:

Meadows, tropical forests, and gardens with thick vegetation. They can be found roaming around during rainy seasons and moths can be found flying about at night.

Notes:

I noticed that 2 out of 4 caterpillars had already spun a cocoon(since I care for these specie of caterpillars). I then transfered it into a clean container. I shall release the moth if it had already emerge.
