White-fronted Tern (adult and juvenile)

Description:

These stunning Tara have an "all-white body including underwing and forked tail, with grey hues on the over the upper side of the wing. In breeding adults a striking black cap covers the head from forehead to nape, leaving a small white strip above the black bill." (Wiki)

Habitat:

Perched on the railing of a deck over the water water of the Otago Harbour on Portobello Road, Dunedin.

Notes:

The young one had been carrying on for a feed and finally the adult did take off. They then came back with this feed of fish but took their time feeding it to the young'n.
