Oxalis corniculata
Beautiful bright yellow flowers about 30mm wide. These are larger than the common wood sorrel. The flowers stand up high above low-growing smaller sorrel leaves.
Place of origin not known but it is seen in every continent. These were spotted growing on a grassy verge by a creek. Some time grown in gardens for their colour and beauty.
Like other sorrels, the flowers and leaves can be eaten. They are said to have a lemony tang.
