Dark-spotted Palthis

Palthis angulalis

Description:

Smaller moth. Reddish brown with dark spots and wavy lines. Prominent curled "snout". Distinct wavy/crinkled wings.

Habitat:

Suburban yard.

Notes:

I am very sorry for the quality of these pictures. They were taken with my phone (which has a very scratched lens). This moth was too interesting not to post and the distinguishing characteristics of this species can still be seen despite the quality of the photos.
