Coelophora inequalis
These are a pair of Variable Ladybird Beetles that i found on eggplant tree in my backyard. These Ladybird Beetles are orange in color, and they have four various pattern black dot on each wing-covers (8 dots in total) that are highly variable between individual. The size of each Ladybird Beetle is about 5 mm in length.
- Spotted on the eggplant tree in my backyard. Usually, these ladybird beetles can be found around the garden and bushes (especially in the plants that attract aphids).
- These Ladybird beetles are an insect from family Coccinellidae. They are one such important beneficial insect, because they feed on aphids (a pest that can destroy plants). This ladybird gets its name from the black markings on the adult elytra (wing-cover), that are highly variable between individual. When the 6-Spotted Zigzag Ladybird Beetle (Cheilomenes sexmaculata) numbers are abundant, Coelophora inequalis may also be around as well.
