Red-Eared Slider

Trachemys scripta elegans

Description:

This particular specimen is covered in mud, but judging by the red ears and the fact that red-eared sliders are pretty common here, I'm pretty sure I'm identifying it correctly.

Habitat:

Ponds, lakes, rivers, etc.

Notes:

Found at Summer Cloud Park. Might be old, sick, or extremely used to humans, because its reaction time was pretty dull. Took a while to register my presence and didn't stay inside the shell for too long once it did. Preferred continuing to sun itself over escaping into the water.
