Taiwan barbet

Psilopogon nuchalis

Description:

The Taiwan Barbet is endemic to the island country of Taiwan. According to birding websites, they are not hard to find (I saw this small flock in a large public park), so I was surprised when my dad, who grew up in Taiwan and spent a lot of time playing outdoors as a kid, said he had never noticed these before.
