Description:

Family: Nymphalidae, Subfamily: Danainae. Female. Wingspan: 8.9 - 10.2 cm (3 1/2 - 4 inches) This was the largest one I have seen. Recognizable orange and black pattern. Feeds on goldenrod and white aster flowers. Host: Milkweed

Habitat:

Meadows and fields with abundant flowers and weeds
