Persian Shield

Strobilanthes dyeriana

Description:

Some more of my summer garden. This is a Persian shield. Despite its beautiful iridescent leaf coloring, I can't find much on this species. It's a tropical evergreen shrub and its binomial name dyeriana is an honorific to English botanist Sir William Turner Thiselton-Dyer.

Habitat:

Native to Myanmar.
